Exciting Internship Opportunity in Oral History Preservation

The Seminole Tribe of Florida Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is looking for interns or volunteers to assist with the digital indexing of its Oral History Collection. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in language and culture preservation, indigenous art and oral history, or museum studies!

Interns will be helping with indexing audio recordings, conducting oral history interviews, accessioning and cataloguing backlogged interviews, writing abstracts for interviews, adding interviewees to the museum’s “people biographies” database, and, potentially, with education-related projects. The internship will provide interns with the opportunity to gain experience working with the most current and cutting-edge technology in the field.

All interested should contact Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Education and Oral History Coordinator, Elizabeth Lowman, at elizabethlowman@semtribe.com. More information about the museum’s Oral History Program can be found here.

The Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is a Smithsonian affiliate and located on the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation in Florida. More information can be found on its website at www.ahtahthiki.com.
