Learn Inuktitut with Online Game

An online computer game from the Kativik School Board in Quebec makes studying the Inuktitut language fun!

The site is a dynamic approach to teaching children their native language. Multiple portals lead to different identification games, from learning the syllabic alphabet to identifying Nunavik animals. As a person who grew up in a Lakota-speaking household, I would have loved to have such tools at my disposal to reinforce and practice what I was learning. I was thrilled to click through the different games and start to learn the basics of Inuktitut. The matching game was particularly fun.

A guide at the bottom of the webpage lists the featured games as well as their intended age group. Also listed are new games that are available for iPads.
