History

Falmouth Institute’s Tribal Secretaries and Administrative Professionals Conference – TriSec – was first held in April 1994 in Lake Tahoe, CA and was created to support the dedicated individuals who work behind the scenes in Indian Country — tribal administrative assistants, clerks, office managers, receptionists, customer service representatives and others.

TriSec has been held every April for the last 29 years to celebrate Tribal Administrative Professionals. The conference is a blend of networking, learning and fun, designed to inspire and motivate you to face everyday challenges. Each year we strive to provide you with the tools needed to enhance your personal and professional success.

Keynote Address

We are excited to welcome Rachel Lane Evangelisto as the TriSec 2023 Keynote Speaker. Rachel is a member of the Hunkpapah Standing Rock Lakota Oyate and grew up in Rapid City, SD. She currently resides in Minneapolis, MN, where she works as an Indian Child Welfare Act Guardian ad litem for the state of Minnesota and represents the best interest of Indigenous youth involved in child protection and foster care cases. In June 2022, Rachel made history after becoming the first-ever Indigenous Miss Minnesota in the program’s 86-year history. Through the Miss America Organization, Rachel found a platform where she could use her voice to correct the negative stereotypes she encountered and celebrate her culture proudly. Rachel was recently accepted into law school to obtain her Juris Doctorate in Native American Law.

Join Rachel for her keynote, “A Balanced Better You through Authentic Connection,” in discussing how she leveraged authenticity through her culture to make a major impact as an ICWA Guardian ad litem, and through her work as Miss Minnesota. Rachel will share with you how to use authentic connections to go from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset in your work and your communities. Learn how to become a change-maker and a balanced, better you in your personal and professional lives.
